CDM’s Turnersville, NJ, machine shop is dedicated full-time to and producing component parts supporting internal requirements utilizing state-of-the-art processes.
“Along with automated CNC processes like milling and turning, CDM’s machine shop can also accommodate EDM machining” said Bill Ensign, Machine Shop Manager. EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) is a non-traditional method in which material is removed from a workpiece using thermal energy and is capable of machining complex shapes in very hard materials. “CDM’s machine shop is also skilled in mechanical assembly” Ensign continued, noting that that the typical staff member has over 20 years’ experience in their role.
Specific services and protocols that can be accommodated by the CDM Machine Shop include 3 Axis automated CNC milling, automated CNC turning, EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining), grinding, drill/punch press, tapping, mechanical assembly, sand blasting and other surface prep. Materials machined include aluminum, brass, copper, hardened steel, Inconel, plastics, stainless steel, Teflons and titanium. Software accommodated includes AutoCAD Open, A360 Desktop, Autodesk AutoCAD 2022, CAMWorks 2022, CAMWorks Solids 2022, ImageView, UPG 1.0, Adobe and Microsoft Office formats.
